Malik pays sudden visit to Adiala prison


RAWALPINDI: Federal Interior Adviser Rehman Malik on Wednesday paid a sudden visit to Adiala Jail and ordered the jail authorities to build an additional barrack.

Malik directed the authorities concerned that woman and juvenile inmates should not be kept with the accused involved in heinous crimes.

He was accompanied by Interior Secretary Syed Kamal Shah and some lawmakers of PPP and PML-N. The interior adviser talked to prisoners and listened their complaints.

Malik ordered the jail authorities to take immediate steps for building separate cells for women prisoners. He further said that prisoners should also be provided the basic facilities in jail.
